Our Story

Choice Specialists, established in Dallas, Texas, in 1999, however, Burnett Personnel Services was founded by Sue Burnett with five employees in Houston, Texas, in 1974. Sue used her car as collateral to secure a $10,000 loan for the Texas staffing agency. By the end of the first year, she had created a profitable company. Today, the company boasts an outstanding portfolio of 9 offices in 6 major Texas cities, including Houston, The Woodlands, El Paso, San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas. In Dallas, we operate as Choice Specialists, and in all other cities, we operate as Burnett Specialists.

Choice Specialists has remained a nationally-certified, woman-owned business since 1997 and ranks as the largest among the employee-owned staffing agencies in Dallas, TX.

Since we are a 100% employee-owned employment agency and Dallas headhunter, we have an advantage over our competitors in the Dallas staffing agencies industry. Because of this, our recruitment team has an “owner’s mentality.” Our candidates and client employers work alongside the recruiters in Dallas, which are employee-owners, throughout the entire hiring process.

EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP

Unlike many staffing and recruiting agencies, we deliver the advantage of working directly with the employee-owners of our company. In 2010, Sue and Rusty Burnett decided they were going to give back to the people who helped make their company a success. They set up an “Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)” as a strategy for the company’s future. Both full-time staff and temporary/contract staffing employees take part in this unique ownership.

We are now Texas’ largest employee-owned staffing and recruitment agency as ranked by the National Center for Employee Ownership. We are also a nationally certified woman-owned business with Sue Burnett continuing as President.
